Health and Safety Inspections

Our professional and flexible site safety inspection service helps managers to meet the latest health and safety regulations, by setting and maintaining consistently high standards on building sites, factories, workshops, offices and all other work locations.

Health & safety inspections are an important monitoring tool to ensure that hazards remain controlled and that employees and others are not at risk. They should be carried out regularly by both internal and external staff.

We can carry out full inspections at any or all of your premises. The inspection would cover all physical parts of the premises, as well as documentation on-site and the activities undertaken at the time.

Full reports are produced that detail:
  • Observations made and hazards identified
  • Level of risk (High, Medium or Low)
  • Any recommendations necessary to ensure ongoing legal compliance

Work Place Risk Assessments

Risk assessment is an essential part of the planning stage of any health and safety management system. HSE, in the publication HSG(65) Successful Health and Safety Management, states that the aim of the planning process to minimise risk.

Risk assessment methods are used to decide on priorities and set objectives for eliminating hazards and reducing risks. Wherever possible, risks are eliminated through selection and design of facilities, equipment and processes. If risks cannot be eliminated, they are minimised by the use of physical controls or, as a last resort, through systems of work and personal protective equipment.

Behavioural Based Safety

Person based approaches attack individuals attitudes or thinking processes directly. The person based approach teaches individuals new thinking strategies or give them insight into origin of their thoughts, attitudes, beliefs or feelings. In contrast the behaviour based approach attacks individual behaviours directly. The behavioural based safety approach changes the relationship between behaviours and their consequences.

 The behaviour and person factors represent the human dynamics of occupational health and safety. We work in partnership with our clients ensuring that behaviour based and person based factors are addressed in order to achieve a total safety culture.

We understand the importance of incorporating these two divergent approaches in the BBS program and the importance of managing the human element, which represents the psychology of injury prevention and  the step change required for continuous improvement in an organisations health and safety culture and performance.

PAT Testing
